Traffic Cameras and Construction Zones

| Jan 15, 2019 | Uncategorized

In Pennsylvania, we all know that “construction season” is inevitably on the horizon. What you might not know is that PA lawmakers are considering putting cameras into highway work areas to capture those people who speed through work zones.  These cameras may send out speeding tickets via the mail.  Unfortunately, state lawmakers consider these cameras to be needed because of a sharp rise in accidents for both construction worker and other drivers.

Working on construction sites is potentially hazardous for employees for many reasons.  Besides the reason highlighted above, sometimes employers fail to follow all established safety procedures and protocol.  It is also a potentially dangerous place for bystanders and motorists passing by (especially if the construction is on a major road). These construction claims often involve potential 3rd party claims against other liable defendants, in addition to your workers compensation claim.  In a related matter, Attorney Stoehr settled a claim in 2010 for over a million dollars for a man seriously injured near a hole that had been recently excavated.  If you have been injured working on a construction site or as a bystander near a construction site, please contact our office  for more information or to set up a free consultation with Attorney Doug Stoehr at 814-515-9074.
