Flying Winter Debris Causes Damage on Road

| Mar 4, 2019 | Uncategorized

Unfortunately, winter is not over yet.  We still need to take care when driving on the roads in our icy winter conditions.  Recently, there was a report on a PA road involving an accident due to icy conditions. According to news reports, a car was driving on the highway when ice from a nearby tractor-trailer hit the car, shattering most of the windshield and injuring a passenger inside. The injured party had to be taken to a nearby hospital.  Local police are stating that the accident is a hit and run.

When driving during the snowy weather, it is important that you take the extra few minutes to completely clean off your car, including the top.  If you don’t do that, you run the risk of your snow and ice flying off the road and hitting someone else. Conversely, if you are hit by another car’s winter debris, it could seriously damage you and your car.

If you have been the victim of a winter driving accident, you may be entitled to compensation for medical bills and potential pain and suffering.  This may include cases where other drivers failed to follow common winter driving safety procedures, such as leaving enough room between cars or failing to remove the ice and snow from their vehicles, which caused an accident.   Attorney Doug Stoehr takes cases for clients who have sustained injuries due to the fault or negligence of another.
