ATV and snowmobile use in our state is common, especially in our central PA area. What you might not know is how much land the state of Pennsylvania has for recreational use. According to reports, snowmobile riders are able to access about 3,000 miles of trails. These trails can be found in 90% of state forest districts, as well as in many of our state parks. The state snowmobile season officially runs from December 15-April 1st. The state also provides condition updates via its snowmobile hotline, which is updated twice weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays). As many state snowmobile riders know, all all-terrain vehicle units have to be registered in the state of PA.
Many Pennsylvanians enjoy using ATVs and snowmobiles nearly year-round. However, these off-road vehicles are potentially dangerous vehicles for many of our state’s youth. Improper ATV use is leading cause of serious injury among Pennsylvanians. Attorney Doug Stoehr of Altoona, PA handles cases involving injury as a result of accidents involving off-road vehicles.
